Title

Bhaktamar Stotra Shlok no.4

The poet, aware of his own limitations, expresses his eagerness to praise Lord Aadinath (Jineshwar dev). He believes that such an attempt reflects his own shamelessness or audacity. He further compares his intentions with the futile efforts of an innocent child who attempts to catch the moon's shadow cast in water.

Lord Aadinath is the beholder of innumerable qualities which are pure like the radiance of the moon. The poet argues that if intelligent individuals like the teacher of celestial beings (‘Brihaspati’) are incapable of uttering and describing these qualities, then no-one else has the capacity to do so. The poet compares this inability with that of others being unable to swim through violent seas of universal dissolution; where crocodiles, alligators and other frightening aquatic organisms are bouncing due to stormy thunderstorms. 3-4.
